Why you can be confident that I can help

Hi, I’m Katy, an L&D specialist with 30 years’ experience.

I’ve worked in-house as a senior L&D business partner in a range of organisations including: Compare the Market, Nationwide Building Society, Thomas Cook, Eurocamp Travel and Alton Towers.

I’ve designed and delivered hundreds of workshops, programmes and events both in-person and virtually including:

  • Management and Leadership development

  • Train the trainer

  • Facilitation skills

  • Team development

  • Collaboration and Influence

  • Coaching skills

I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. Made mistakes and learnt so much about getting interaction, commitment, engagement and results.

And I’ve distilled that down into a programme bursting with tips, ideas and processes which will revolutionise your approach.

In 2020, I set up my development and coaching business Make Real Progress, where – along with the team – I consult, design and deliver impactful programmes and workshops for corporate clients across a range of sectors and industries

I also work with Coaches, L&D and HR professionals to develop their skills to develop others, which is just what Fab Facilitation is all about.

Fab Facilitation is for you if …

  • You want to improve the quality and results of your in person workshops

  • You want to build your techniques and confidence to deliver in person

  • You’re not sure what great facilitation looks and feels like

  • You’re self-employed or work in-house

  • You’re a Coach or HR / L&D professional

Fab Facilitation might not be for you if …

  • You want to run step-by-step process or compliance based training where you can’t deviate from a prescribed structure

  • You prefer to run one-way presentations rather than interactive learning workshops

  • You’re highly experienced at facilitating workshops, programmes or groups

What Fab Facilitation covers

Fab facilitation is super-practical, guiding you through the core areas you need to facilitate workshops and programmes.

It’s highly experiential. I’ll be role-modelling as we go through and you’ll be getting involved from the start, getting hands on and giving the tools and techniques a road test.

We start with your onboarding. I’ll get to know more about you, your current experience and confidence levels and what you want to get from the programme.

And on the programme itself we focus on:

  • Creating the right environment

  • Starting with style

  • Bringing your content to life

  • Being at your best

  • Managing time and energy

  • Dealing with challenges

  • Making it stick

  • Engaging endings

We follow up the programme a post-questionnaire to measure your progress, post workshop activity on confidence and visuals PLUS access to our monthly drop-in sessions, where you can join with questions or simply idea storming.

I’m not a trainer. Is this suitable for me?

Absolutely! We’ve already supported coaches and HR professionals who all want to facilitate groups for various reasons.

No previous L&D knowledge or experience is required.

I’m a trainer / L&D professional. Is this suitable for me?

Maybe! It depends on your experience and confidence.

If you regularly facilitate, are confident in doing so, have high levels of interaction and get great results – then it’s probably not for you.

If you’re used to training from notes, or want to build confidence and toolkit for facilitation, then it may be just what you need!

Pop me an email to katy@makerealprogress.co.uk if you want to have a quick chat to check.

How much does it cost?

The standard price is £1497 + VAT. But we’re currently offering a whopping £300 off the standard price for anyone who joins from our waitlist as a thank you. Join the waitlist here.

The special offer price is £1197+VAT Pay in Full, or 3 x monthly instalments of £399 + VAT.

The total cost is the same, whichever way you choose to pay.

How many people will be on the programme?

We aim for between 6 and 10 participants. This gives us enough people to demonstrate techniques and put it into practise, and opportunity to give support and feedback to each participant.

Please note that we’ll need a minimum of 6 people to make the sessions viable.

Do you run this programme in-house for companies?

We sure do! Pop me an email to katy@makerealprogress.co.uk and we can have a chat.

Can you invoice my company?

Sure thing. Pop me an email to katy@makerealprogress.co.uk and I’ll get that set up.

I’ll need: Company name, address, name and email address for the invoice and a Purchase Order number if your company requires it.

*Please note, we only accept Pay in Full for invoices. Your place is only confirmed when we receive either the Purchase Order, or the payment in full.

Will you cover learning theory?

Our focus will be on practical tools and methods. Whilst I’ve drawn on learning theory to create it, we’re not covering it here.

The reason being, so many people choose to take L&D qualifications to learn how to facilitate – and end up knowing a lot but not able to put it into practise.

Do I need any previous L&D knowledge?

No! We deliberately keep it practical and step by step.

If you’re brand new into the World of L&D, joining our monthly drop-in sessions will really help expand your knowledge too.

Got other questions I haven’t covered? Just pop me an email and I’ll come back to you!
